Here’s yet another trailer for Battleship, which may as well be a new Transformers movie, since the movies look similarly flashy, colourful, and stupid. The thing is, Battleship has yet to give me any indication that it has truly embraced the stupidity of its premise. Transformers at least had a peeing robot – you can’t say the filmmakers were taking themselves seriously after seeing that. But no such luck in Battleship from the look of things. No one has even said “You sunk my Battleship!” What they really need is for the alien to take off its helmet to reveal that it’s being played by someone like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Now that would be awesome.
