Believe it or not, if you were watching Alien back when it was originally released in 1979, it might have come as a complete surprise that Sigourney Weaver wound up being the sole survivor. The rest of the film’s cast was made up of six established actors, but at the time, Sigourney was a complete unknown. To give you an idea just how much of an unknown she was, here’s a glimpse of her very brief screen debut in Annie Hall. She plays Woody Allen’s date as they stand together outside a movie theater near the end of the film. Sigourney’s total screen time is six seconds and the scene is shot from so far away that you would never know it was her.
