French-American actress Julie Delpy is also a director, screenwriter and singer-songwriter. She had a passion for acting at a young age, being the only child of a theatre director and an actress, and she made her film debut at the age of 14 in the Jean-Luc Godard movie Detective. She appeared in several other French language films, such as La passion Beatrice and Three Colors: Blue before making the transition to predominantly English language movies, including Killing Zoe, The Three Musketeers, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Waking Life, Broken Flowers, The Hoax, 2 Days in Paris, and 2 Days in New York. As well as starring in them, Delpy also wrote Before Sunset, 2 Days in Paris and 2 Days in New York, the latter two of which she directed. She turns 43 today.
