Celebrity Birthday of the Day – January 29

For all that I often write off Heather Graham as an unremarkable actor, I must say, she’s certainly fought to be where she is! Graham began pursuing a career in acting full-time in spite of her parents’ objections, and even turned down a role in Heathers because they didn’t like the script. Graham’s first role was an uncredited appearance in the Diane Keaton/Mel Gibson movie Mrs. Soffel, and she also made early appearances in the films Twins, Drugstore Cowboy, Even Cowgirls Get the Blues and Six Degrees of Separation. Graham’s big break came in the form of the role of Rollergirl in 1997’s Boogie Nights, which made her not only famous but also a sex symbol. Since then, she has appeared in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Bowfinger, Lost In Space, and The Hangover. Heather Graham turns 43 today.
