A disillusioned school teacher suddenly finds he has the ability to do anything he wishes, a challenge bestowed upon him by a group of power-crazed aliens, watching him from space. As he struggles to deal with these new found powers and the events that subsequently arise, he calls upon his loyal canine companion Dennis to help him along the way.
Watching this trailer, all I could think is that it’s basically the same plot as Bruce Almighty, just without the religious theme, but y’know, I’m going to give Absolutely Anything a pass based solely on the amazing talent behind it. The Pythons, Simon Pegg, Joanna Lumley, Eddie Izzard, and the voice of the late Robin Williams in front of the camera, and Terry Jones directing? It sounds too good to be true! Hopefully this will be a masterpiece of comedy in spite of the trailer looking merely above average (in my opinion, anyway).
Absolutely Anything doesn’t have a North American release date yet, but it’s set to come out on August 14, 2015 in the UK.
