Well, here’s a pretty bizarre, ultra-obscure short film starring an unknown Lizzy Caplan. Filmed in 2003, Hardcore Action News featured Caplan as a broke, pregnant 18-year old who becomes so desperate that she willingly volunteers for an experiment in which her unborn baby will become a test subject for a news program’s utero-advertising system and be the first child to be born into the world as an instant consumer. This is actually a pretty clever idea for a short and given that there’s so little info about Hardcore Action News out there, I wouldn’t mind seeing this idea being expanded into a feature someday.
