Nothing screams “1990s” more than a reference to Fabio, who was considered the ultimate heartthrob during that time period. While getting his start with the improv sketch comedy group, Second City, Steve Carell did a sketch in which he impersonated Fabio even though (as the waxing scene in The 40-Year Old Virgin demonstrated) Carell has considerably more chest hair. Oh yeah, and the dubbed voice of “Fabio” in this sketch happens to be provided by another notable Second City performer/future star: Stephen Colbert.
