Before They Were Stars: Joel Hodgson in a Jerry Seinfeld Stand-Up Special

You might have heard that Joel Hodgson has recently launched a new Kickstarter to bring back Mystery Science Theater 3000, so I think it’s as good a time as any to look back at Joel’s pre-MST3K career in stand-up comedy. You might not know that Joel once collaborated on a project with a pre-Seinfeld Jerry Seinfeld. In 1987, Seinfeld had his own HBO special called Jerry Seinfeld: Stand-Up Confidential, which alternated between Seinfeld’s stand-up and some comedy sketches. Not only did Joel Hodgson act in some of the sketches, but he and Seinfeld also co-wrote the entire special together.
