I disliked the first Michael Bay-produced Ninja Turtles movie thoroughly, so I have no enthusiasm for the sequel, but I feel obligated to post this Superbowl TV spot for it because, well…it has Krang! I can’t quite believe it, but there’s Krang in his weird robot body that actually looks kinda like the one from the cartoon. And Bebop and Rocksteady are in this movie as well, and they kinda look like the cartoon. If only the turtles actually looked anything like the cartoon, I might be into it. But if you take away all the new cartoony touches, you might notice, as I did, that this movie is blatantly repeating the previous one. The airplane scene is going to be the new chase-down-a-snowy-mountain scene, I guarantee it, and the Krang showdown appears to take place on the roof of a skyscraper…much like the Shredder showdown did. Yep. No way am I rushing out to the theatre for this nonsense.
