In 1980, Donald Trump was a 34-year old millionaire real estate mogul who was already a fairly well known public figure, but nowhere near the larger-than-life personality he would become. During this interview with Rona Barrett, Trump is asked if he would ever consider running for President of the United States and he says he would not because dedicating yourself to public service is a “mean life”. Whew, glad he put that ridiculous idea to rest! That would just be absurd!
