Before They Were Stars: Melissa McBride in “Georgina Blume’s Nightmare”

I stopped watching The Walking Dead a long time ago, but I still keep hearing about the very unlikely arc of Carol Peletier, who went from a completely useless character to the most compelling person on the show. The whole thing is quite a success story for Melissa McBride, who worked steadily in film and television for over 20 years, but probably never dreamed about receiving this amount of mainstream recognition. Anyway, here’s one of McBride’s earliest acting jobs from 1993, appearing in a no-budget 16 mm short film titled Georgina Blume’s Nightmare, where she plays a spoiled suburbanite who finds herself on the streets and venturing into the urban artist community.
