Sega is releasing a new, updated version of the retro classic Splatterhouse – an interesting choice, from my perspective, as the original Splatterhouse was greatly criticized for not having particularly innovative gameplay and falling victim to lots of censorship back in the day. Video game censorship laws have become much more lax in recent years, however, so it looks like the new Splatterhouse will contain a lot more gore to satisfy us bloodthirsty gamers. While the trailer doesn’t exactly have me bouncing with excitement at the game’s upcoming release, I will admit that I enjoy a good beat-em-up game and this looks to be fun, if completely mindless.
