Unlike the series of comedy shorts wherein Werner Herzog reads various classic children’s books, the animated short above actually features the voice of the real Werner Herzog as he recounts a story wherein he saved Joaquin Phoenix from blowing himself up in a car accident. I think this is one awesome story, and I really like the construction paper cutout animation. The drawings of Joaquin with his crazy beard and sunglasses are particularly good.
