If you’re wondering why I’m such an Unsolved Mysteries fanatic, it may be due to the fact that one of the most famous unsolved mysteries of all time took place on the day I was born! On October 21, 1978, pilot Frederick Valentich and his plane completely vanished while traveling over Bass Strait in Australia and there’s always been good reason to believe he may have been abducted by a UFO. There were several reported UFO sightings around the area at the time and the last radio transmission Valentich gave were the now-immortal words: “It’s hovering and it’s not an aircraft”. Strange metallic scraping sounds were also heard over the radio after his transmission and neither Valentich and the plane have ever been found. So the most famous event that happened in the world on my birthdate was a possible UFO abduction. Seems appropriate.
