I was a bit dubious when I read that The Mechanic was being directed by Simon West, the brilliant mind behind such classic films as Con Air and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, but after watching the trailer, I guess I’ll give it a shot…but probably only as a rental. Jason Statham and Ben Foster kicking ass together while Donald Sutherland shows up for a cameo? Sounds like a fun time. Here’s a plot summary, the length of which tells you something about the quality of the movie:
An action-thriller centered on an assassin and a young man who becomes an apprentice.
Yep, that’s everything there is to say about it.
