Yesterday, I featured Sean Penn’s first acting appearance as a child, which took place under the directorial reins of his father. Today, it’s only appropriate that I do the same thing for Robert Downey Jr., who made his acting debut at the age of five in a film directed by (you guessed it) Robert Downey Sr.. The film in question is a 1970 effort called Pound that takes place in a dog pound and has human actors playing the roles of the dogs! Robert Downey Jr. is credited as “Puppy” and his one line of dialogue in this clip shows that, even at the age of five, he was still an hilarious smartass!
