I can’t say as I care all that much for Morgan Spurlock’s documentaries. Super Size Me was pretty good, but Where In The World Is Osama Bin Laden just bored me. His latest endeavour, however, has me very curious indeed. The premise behind The Greatest Movie Ever Sold is simple: it’s a documentary about marketing and product placement funded entirely by marketing and product placement. Being that I’m a huge movie nerd, I find the idea of funding a movie about product placement using nothing but product placement pretty damn clever, and it examines a facet of the film biz that we the public rarely hear anything about. Much like This Movie Is Not Yet Rated, I hope The Greatest Movie Ever Sold will draw back the curtain on product placement so that we can see the wizards behind it all. Plus, it looks really funny.
The Greatest Movie Ever Sold comes out April 22, 2011.
