Yesterday was Robert De Niro’s birthday, and today we celebrate the birth of another legendary actor named Robert: Robert Redford. Personally, I don’t think Redford boasts as impressive a filmography as De Niro, but those films that Redford has appeared in or directed that are good are really good. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, The Milagro Beanfield War, All The President’s Men and Sneakers (a personal favourite of mine) are all terrific films, and show just what an awesome guy Redford is. What’s more, Redford founded the Sundance Film Festival – one of the biggest film festivals in the world! Robert Redford is a great actor…but he’s better when he moves. He turns 75 today.
