Franz Kafka’s It’s A Wonderful Life

After recently watching several movies starring one of my favourite actors of all time, Richard E. Grant, I stumbled upon this strange little 30-minute short film titled Franz Kafka’s It’s A Wonderful Life, starring Grant as Kafka! In it, we see Kafka struggling to write his famous book Metamorphosis, but he can’t seem to find inspiration amidst all the interruptions. The film was produced by BBC Scotland in 1993 and actually won an Oscar, tying with another live-action short film called Trevor. It’s a weird, funny little short that seems like the kind of thing Tim Burton might dream up, and I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoy it. But then, as I said, I’m a huge Richard E. Grant fan.

Part 3 awaits you under the cut!
