Exactly one month ago, I posted a “Before They Were Stars” feature of a young Sean Bean appearing in a Barbican Lager commercial, and here’s a blink-or-you’ll-miss-it early role for him in the cult British black comedy, How to Get Ahead in Advertising. Bean is essentially just an extra in this film as his entire role consists of sitting in the background in the opening scene. However, he is credited at the very bottom of the end titles under a full character name, “Larry Frisk”, so I have to wonder if he originally had a much larger role that was left on the cutting room floor.
