Ethan Hawke was practically born to be a star! I mean, with a name like that, he was clearly destined to be an actor, right? Hawke began acting in stage productions at the age of 13, and at 14 he managed to convince his mother to let him attending a casting call for the classic Joe Dante movie Explorers (one of my all-time childhood favourites). And wouldn’t ya know it – he got the part. He followed it up with a lead role in Dead Poet’s Society, and his popularity has been increasing ever since. He’s acted in lots of awesome movies, such as Reality Bites, Gattaca, Before Sunrise and its sequel Before Sunset, Waking Life, Training Day and Daybreakers. He’s also returned to the stage a number of times, as well as performing brief roles on TV shows Alias, Moby Dick and Robot Chicken. He turns 41 today.
