In light of our Shouts From the Back Row Bondcast, here’s an ironic example of an actor who would later star in his own James Bond parody making his film debut in a Bond picture. Long before he was Johnny English, Rowan Atkinson appeared in a supporting role in the “unofficial” Bond film, Never Say Never Again, featuring Sean Connery’s way-too-old final appearance as 007. Atkinson plays a bumbling British agent named Nigel Small-Fawcett whose name has no hidden sexual meaning whatsoever.
