Dee Wallace was born Deanna Bowers in Kansas City and began her career as a ballet soloist. She first broke into movies in the 1970’s through roles in many popular horror and sci-fi films, including The Hills Have Eyes, The Howling, and The Stepford Wives. The 80’s brought Wallace many of her most well-known parts in movies such as Cujo, Critters, and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. Wallace has done a lot of work outside of genre cinema, but she has never forgotten her horror roots and continues to appear in horror flicks even today, with some of her more recent work being Peter Jackson’s (highly underrated) The Frighteners and Rob Zombie’s 2007 remake of Halloween. Breaking away from horror, it has been announced that Wallace’s next major role will be in the eigth season of The Office. Dee Wallace turns 63 today.
