Corey Haim was a Canadian-born actor who began acting when his mother enrolled him in improv classes in a bid to overcome his shyness. Upon completing grade 8, Haim decided to focus on his acting career, acting in movies such as Firstborn, Silver Bullet and Lucas, and eventually making a name for himself as a teen idol after the role that made him famous in The Lost Boys, alongside another famous child actor named Corey: Corey Feldman. The Lost Boys would prove to be Haim’s most successful role, but he continued to act in TV movies, shows and the occasional theatrical film, including titles such as Blown Away, Snowboard Academy, and PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal. Unfortunately, a crippling drug habit prevented Haim from finding further success until, in 2006, he began to attempt a comeback with a reality show The Two Coreys starring himself and Corey Feldman as a roommates. As the series went on, however, it became clear that there was a lot of sadness and tragedy in the relationship between Haim and Feldman, and it ultimately led to a falling out between the two actors. Haim’s drug problem began to take hold again, and in 2008, Haim got into a car accident while under the influence. The Two Coreys was cancelled as a result. Haim tried to recover his career with a role in Crank 2: High Voltage and a few other films, but still struggling with addiction made this a challenge. In 2010, Corey Haim died of pneumonia at the age of 38.
