Temuera Morrison is a New Zealand-born actor who is also the son of the musician Sir Howard Morrison. Morrison began studying drama under the New Zealand Special Performing Arts Training Scheme, and played early roles in films such as Never Say Die. the remake of The Island of Dr. Moreau, Speed 2: Cruise Control, Vertical Limit, and Six Days Seven Nights, before being thrust into the mainstream because of his role as Jango Fett (father of Boba Fett) in Star Wars – Episode II: Attack of the Clones. In fact, Morrison is now a part of the uber-official Star Wars canon due to his dubbing over Boba Fett’s original voice (that of Jason Wingreen) in the 2004 DVD re-release of Star Wars – Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Morrison also expanded his nerd cred by playing the role of Abin Sur in Green Lantern, and while that film kinda sucked, I’d say that Abin Sur was one of my (few) favourite things about it. Temuera Morrison turns 51 today.
