This has got to be some kind of record, folks. I first posted the trailer for the Uruguayan horror film The Silent House on The Back Row on March 27, 2011. Now we’re getting an American remake of it to be released on March 9, 2012. So less than a year after the original film appeared on everyone’s radar, a US remake is being released. Normally American remakes that seem to serve no purpose other than to spare people from reading subtitles kinda cheese me off, but I’m just too stunned by this one to care. I haven’t even seen the original yet! Oh well, this looks like gimmicky fun, I suppose, regardless of what language it’s in. On a somewhat unrelated note – when did the sound of Polaroid photos being taken become scary? Circa The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake?
The Silent House begins its 88-minute ordeal on March 9, 2012.
