Vince Gilligan hasn’t worked on many TV series, but some of the ones he’s worked on are some of the best of all time. Gilligan attended NYU and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in film production from the Tisch School of the Arts. While attending NYU, he wrote a screenplay called Home Fries, which, many years later, would be turned into a Luke Wilson/Drew Barrymore movie. Gilligan’s big break happened in the early 90’s when he became a producer on The X-Files, working on a total of 128 episodes, also working on the spinoff series The Lone Gunmen and Chris Carter’s mini-series Harsh Realm. He also wrote the movie Hancock and, more recently, he’s gained great acclaim as the creator of Breaking Bad. Clearly this man is a genius. Vince Gilligan turns 45 today.
