In 1960, a young, mustache-free Burt Reynolds (bearing a resemblance to a young Marlon Brando) guest-starred in an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents entitled “Escape to Sonoita”. The story involves Reynolds and his father having their truck break down in the middle of the desert and encountering a pair of vicious criminals, one of whom is played the legendary character actor Harry Dean Stanton in one of his earliest roles. It’s also worth noting that this episode is a very early directorial job for Stuart Rosenberg, who started out in television before going on to direct such notable films as Cool Hand Luke and The Amityville Horror.
