Follows police officer Amadeus Warnebring, tone-deaf scion of a musical family, as he attempts to track down a group of six guerilla percussionists whose anarchic public performances are terrorizing the city.
We love weird and unusual films here in The Back Row, and they don’t get much more unusual thank Sound of Noise, a Swedish heist movie about six rogue percussionists who wreak havoc upon an unsuspecting city as part of their greatest performance of all time. It’s Stomp as a Swedish heist movie, and not only does it look terrific, but I think this has to be one of the most interesting takes on the movie musical I have ever seen. I’m already totally in love with Sound of Noise, so I won’t bother gushing about it much longer, but you can bet I’ll be keeping a watchful eye on this one. There’s a metronome here somewhere!
Sound of Noise comes out in limited theatres starting March 9, 2012.
