Rob Cohen is an American director, writer and producer who is a graduate of Harvard. He began his career as a producer in the 1970’s, later moving into the director’s chair in the 1980’s, and while he has directed some notable stuff, like episodes of Miami Vice and the films Dragonheart, The Skulls, The Fast and the Furious, xXx, and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, I can’t say as I would count any of those movies among the best ever made. However, during his time as a producer, Cohen helped in the creation of some truly memorable films, including The Monster Squad, The Witches of Eastwick, and The Running Man. Heck, The Monster Squad alone gives Cohen enough credit to earn him a pass on all those bad movies, too. He turns 63 today.
