Adam “MCA” Yuach of the Beastie Boys died today after a long battle with cancer. He was 47 years old, and while I’m not a big hiphop fan, I’ve gotta admit, I really dig some of the Beastie Boys‘ tunes. In tribute to the late, great MCA, I’m posting the Beastie Boys track Paul Revere, because it features these awesome lyrics:
“Now my name is M.C.A. I’ve got a license to kill.
I think you know what time it is it’s time to get ill.
Now what do we have here an outlaw and his beer.
I run this land, you understand I make myself clear.”
We stepped into the wind he had a gun, I had a grin.
You think this story’s over but it’s ready to begin.
In other news – the Beastie Boys are pushing 50. I’m getting so old.
