English actor Aaron Johnson has been acting since the age of 6, when he appeared alongside Rufus Sewell in a production of Macbeth in 1999. In 2001, Johnson moved into film and television acting, with early appearances in the TV shows Armadillo, The Bill, Family Business, and Feather Boy, and early film roles in Tom & Thomas, Dead Cool, The Thief Lord, and Shanghai Knights. In 2006 he had a small role in the Edward Norton film The Illusionist, and in 2008 he acted in the film Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, based on the popular book of the same name. He played John Lennon in the biopic Nowhere Boy, but it was his role as the titular Kick-Ass in 2010 that really put Johnson in the spotlight. Since Kick-Ass, he has acted in the films Chatroom and Albert Nobbs, and is slated to appear in Oliver Stone’s Savages this year, as well as in the upcoming sequel to Kick-Ass titled Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall. Aaron Johnson turns 22 today.
