Tony Scott is the younger brother of Ridley Scott, and even though they’re both directors, the brothers Scott each have very distinct directorial styles. Tony Scott’s films are known for their vivid colour schemes, quick editing, and frequent casting of Denzel Washington, exemplified by movies like Man on Fire, Unstoppable, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, and Deja Vu. Aside from his brightly coloured Denzel flicks, Tony Scott has also directed some pretty famous films such as True Romance, Crimson Tide, The Last Boy Scout, Days of Thunder, Beverly Hills Cop 2, Enemy of the State, and Top Gun. I don’t know if I’d ever call Tony Scott’s films “art”, but I do know that I always find them to be fun, flashy, action-packed and enjoyable. Tony Scott turns 68 today.
