Life of Pi

The story of an Indian boy named Pi, a zookeeper’s son who finds himself in the company of a hyena, zebra, orangutan, and a Bengal tiger after a shipwreck sets them adrift in the Pacific Ocean.

Wow. I honestly didn’t expect anything from Ang Lee’s new film Life of Pi, having not read the novel and been highly skeptical of the cinematic potential of the source material…but man, I take it all back. This new trailer for it makes the film look absolutely spectacular, almost like a more adventurous version of The Black Stallion, but with a tiger, zebra, hyena and orangutan instead of a horse. What’s more the visual appeal is so great with this one that, for the first time in a very long while, I’m actually really excited to see it in 3D! It just goes to show that in the right hands, 3D can be used to very great effect. Anyone as stoked for this as I am?

Life of Pi comes out November 21, 2102.
