My hopes for Tai Chi O are pretty high just based on the genre, as “steampunk martial arts” isn’t exactly well-trodden territory, but with this trailer also comes a whole lot of self-referential and irreverent humour. Now the movie looks closer to Kung Fu Hustle in tone, which is a very good thing indeed. The thing that gets me most excited for this movie comes as a credit at the end, however: action choreography by Sammo Hung! In case you don’t know, Sammo is a legend, and you can see why in the video below.
