A modern fairy tale in which the long-standing peace between men and giants is threatened, as a young farmer leads an expedition into the giants’ kingdom in hopes of rescuing a kidnapped princess.
Y’know, I think they’ve finally done it. I think Hollywood may have finally found just the right combination of humour and seriousness to make a modern, CGI-packed retelling of a classic fairy tale work. Snow White and the Huntsman, while interesting in concept, was poor in execution and took itself way too seriously. Jack the Giant Slayer, on the other hand, looks like a whole lot of fun from where I sit. But then, maybe I’m just enamoured of Ewan MacGregor’s awesome goatee. But hey, Bryan Singer is a solid director. I think this could be good! Am I alone on this one?
Jack the Giant Slayer comes out March 1, 2013.
