The film follows Richard Kuklinski, loving husband, devoted father and ruthless killer. He is believed to have killed at least 100 people between 1964 and 1986, including more than 50 vagrants before he was 18 years old.
I can’t say this particular brand of true crime movie appeals to me inherently – usually for me to get excited about a “based on a true story” crime thriller, I need someone to recommend it to me first. I don’t really know why; maybe I’ve just seen too many boring ones. Anyway, as I said, usually that’s the case, but the cast of The Iceman is so solid that I’m actually really looking forward to it. Chris Evans, James Franco, Ray Liotta, Winona Ryder, and, of course, my guy Michael Shannon. Apparently this was a big hit in Toronto when it made its festival debut last year. Can’t wait to see it!
The Iceman comes out May 3, 2013.
