Rosamund Pike’s celebrity status was hard won, as she was initially turned down by every stage school that she applied to, and instead graduated with a degree in English Literature. Following her graduation and some early work in plays, she took a year off to pursue acting full time. While she was still in university, Pike appeared on several British television shows such as Wives and Daughters and Love in a Cold Climate. She made her film debut as a Bond girl in 2002’s Die Another Day, which put her on the map as a film actor on an international scale. Since then, she has appeared in such films as The Libertine, Pride & Prejudice, Doom, Barney’s Version, Johnny English Reborn, The Big Year, Wrath of the Titans, Jack Reacher, and the upcoming The World’s End. Rosamund Pike turns 34 today.
