Today we celebrate the birthday of the late great genius Theodor Seuss Geisel – better known to you as Dr. Seuss. Since the man was such a talented writer, I don’t feel that there’s any way I could write anything here that would do his work justice. So instead, here’s a quote about birthdays from Dr. Seuss’ book Oh, The Places You’ll Go, which is all about growing up.
Oh, the places you’ll go! There is fun to be done!
There are points to be scored. There are games to be won.
And the magical things you can do with that ball
will make you the winning-est winner of all.
Fame! You’ll be as famous as famous can be,
with the whole wide world watching you win on TV.
Dr. Seuss died on September 24, 1991, at the age of 87, but his legacy will live forever.
