Control yourselves, ladies, because today is Oliver Wood’s birthday. Sean Biggerstaff began acting at age ten when he played the son of MacDuff in a production of Macbeth in Glasgow, Scotland. He joined the Scottish Youth Theatre and performed with them for six years. At age thirteen, Biggerstaff appeared in his first major television role in a BBC production of The Crow Road. The following year he appeared in the Alan Rickman film The Winter Guest, and it was Rickman who recommended Biggerstaff to the acting agency who landed him the role of Oliver Wood in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Since Harry Potter put him on the map, Biggerstaff has appeared in the film Cashback and the TV shows The Lost Book, and Garrow’s Law. Sean Biggerstaff turns 30 today.
