There isn’t a lot of information about Jay Roach’s career online, but I can tell you that if you had asked me what the funniest movie in the world was back in 1997, I definitely would have named Jay Roach’s debut film Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. The success of Austin Powers and its sequels quickly shot Roach to fame as a comedy director, and he has also directed the trilogy of Meet the Parents films, 50 First Dates, Borat, Bruno, Dinner for Schmucks and The Campaign. He’s currently slated to direct another Austin Powers movie and man, even though I think the series peaked with its first installment, I’ll probably end up seeing it. Jay Roach turns 56 today.
