At the time of his death, David Kelly had been acting for almost 75 years! He began at the age of 8, acting in productions put on by Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre, and he trained at the Abbey School of Acting in his youth. He made his television debut in 1951 on the TV series Fireside Theatre, and made his film debut in an uncredited role in 1956’s The Wrong Man. Kelly’s resume includes over 100 credits, and some of the more notable ones are films such as The Italian Job, Into the West, Waking Ned, Mean Machine, Mystics, Laws of Attraction, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Stardust. He also appeared on TV series including Tales from the Lazy Acre, Oh, Father!, and Slinger’s Day. David Kelly passed away on February 13, 2012 at the age of 82.
