Yesterday, I did a “Before They Were Stars” feature on Tom Selleck doing a commercial for Ban Basic Deodorant. Selleck seemed to do a lot of commercials during the 1970s before he was famous and I realized that virtually all of them seemed to be for hygiene products. This is probably due to him being such a naturally handsome man, but seriously, in addition to the aforementioned Ban Basic Deodorant commercial, Selleck also shilled Right Guard Deodorant, Safeguard Soap and Chaz Aftershave and Cologne For Men. If that wasn’t enough, here are a pair of ads he did for Close-Up Toothpaste.
