When Bill Paxton was working in Hollywood in the early 1980s, he was still doing small parts in films like The Terminator, but his first official lead role was in Taking Tiger Mountain, an ultra-obscure low-budget black-and-white sci-fi flick from Wales. This film takes place in a post-apocalyptic future, and Paxton plays a young man who is brainwashed by a group of feminists into assassinating the powerful leader of a sex slavery ring. Taking Tiger Mountain was actually based on a William S. Burroughs novel called The Bladerunner (itself adapted from an Alan E. Nourse sci-fi novel of the same name), but of course, the release of another famous sci-fi film named Blade Runner during this time period compelled them to change the title.
