There’s nothing that I love more than finding obscure footage of celebrities who had early roles in educational or corporate training films and here’s a much more svelte George Wendt appearing in one for AT&T during the 1970s. The film is titled You Always Hurt the One You Love and is intended to promote workplace safety, but I gotta admit, it’s pretty clever and creative. Most of it is done in the style of a silent movie as Wendt and a female employee keep getting into wacky workplace accidents before they find true love. Hmmm, I wonder if that lady is Vera, Norm Peterson’s unseen wife from Cheers, and if this is how they originally met.
