Enemy

Prisoners was a surprisingly solid thriller from 2013, and between it and Incendies, I’ve found myself very interested in the work of Quebecois director Denis Villeneuve. Villeneuve is teaming up with Jake Gyllenhaal once again in his next thriller Enemy, which looks most intriguing, but even more intriguing to me is the fact that we now have two films coming out this year based around the idea of doppelgangers. One is Enemy, which makes a thriller out of the premise, the other is Richard Ayoade’s The Double, which presents it as a comedy. Oddly enough, the trailer for The Double initially made me think that it was a thriller like Enemy. Oh, and Enemy is based on a book called The Double. There had better not be another movie about doppelgangers coming out this year, because that would ruin the weird symmetry of these two movies. And since I posted a ridiculous poster for Noah yesterday, I thought I might as well post the poster for Enemy, just to show Noah‘s poster designers how this shit is done right.

Enemy comes out March 14, 2014.
