Yesterday, in tribute to the late, great Harold Ramis, I posted an audio excerpt from the National Lampoon Radio Hour, a project which featured early work from many prominent comedy figures, including Ramis, Bill Murray and Christopher Guest. Shortly thereafter, Murray and Guest took a gig working on TVTV, a San Francisco-based group who produced comedic “guerrilla video” documentaries for television. In 1976, Guest and a mustachioed Murray hosted a TVTV behind-the-scenes documentary about Super Bowl X, and I believe this marks Bill Murray’s first official appearance on television.
