A lot of people don’t know that Kermit the Frog was around for 20 years before the Muppets were even a thing. Jim Henson spent two decades using his most famous creation in any project he could find, including sales training films for IBM. However, Kermit’s first official appearance came in 1955 on a low-budget puppet television show called Sam and Friends, which was created by Jim and Jane Henson and aired on WRC-TV in Washington, D.C. for six years.
