For the first few years of his wrestling career, Hulk Hogan wrestled under the name “Terry Boulder”. At the time, The Incredible Hulk was one of the most popular shows on television and while wrestling in Memphis, Terry Boulder just happened to be booked on a local talk show alongside Lou Ferrigno. This inspired promoter Jerry Jarrett to dream up with the idea of referring to Terry Boulder as “The Hulk” and this vignette marks the first time that the future Mr. Hogan officially used that name. Incidentally, that’s future WWF superstar Brutus Beefcake portraying Terry Boulder’s “brother”, Ed Boulder.
