You may not know that David Bowie’s real name is the far more generic David Jones. In fact, he released his first single as the lead vocalist of a band called Davie Jones and the King Bees, but he eventually changed his surname to “Bowie” to avoid confusion with Davy Jones of the Monkees. Anyway, the future David Bowie was only 17 years old when his band recorded a Beatles-esque song entitled “Liza Jane” in 1964. The single did not do well, but Davie Jones eventually moved on to bigger things.
